September 6, 2013 Yogathon MC Dilshad Burman & Music From DJ TnT & DJ Fizza - The We Are Your Sisters Yogathon is chalking up to be one of the funkiest Yogathons this year! The WAYS Team is proud to announce that Dilshad Burman, Host of OMNI TV’s VMIX will be the Master of Ceremonies for the event. Dilshad was born and raised in Mumbai India and understands firsthand the difficulties that young women face in India. She is happy to see that the members of the Indian diaspora community in Canada are standing up in support of change for women in India. Alongside Dilshad with be The KidMC - DJ TnT, Sagar Sethi and DJ Fizza, t-dot’s first South Asian Female disc jockey, spinning music to uplift the participants during their 108 sun salutations.
The Yogathon will take place at the Lakeshore Convention Center in Mississauga on September 22, 2013. Attendees are asked to register and raise a minimum of $30 to participate. Proceeds from the event will go to the Prajwala organization in India that rescues and rehabilitates women from rape and trafficking incidents.
The “We Are Your Sisters Yogathon” aims to demonstrate how the South Asian Diaspora community can come together and empower women in India, especially those who are victims of rape and trafficking. A prominent media personality like Dilshad, who has lived in India and Canada, is a perfect fit for the WAYS Yogathon and will be able to motivate the participants with her enthusiasm!
